I have been working virtually for over 6 months now. I have compiled a list of online resources that I have been using to make my time and your time virtually easier!
Tip #1 – Flippity
Flippity is a great FREE online resource to assist you with a name generator, virtual BINGO, flashcards, wordsearch, hangman, and so much more. All these resources are FREE! I have been using the name picker in my small group setting each day. I also love the randomizer because I am using it as my virtual blending board when I teach the 3 part drill for Orton Gillingham.
Tip #2 – Virtual Manipulatives
Toy Theater and Virtual Manipulatives – are two online resource that contain virtual manipulatives! They are FREE, which is even better. I have been using the letters to make cvc words, place value blocks and coins during small group activities to assist students. This is also a great resource to send to parents to have on hand for their child.
Tip #3 – Virtual Whiteboard
Whiteboard.fi is an online whiteboard that you can use with your students. This has been great to use for math when solving problems and practicing our weekly word study words! You can also push your whiteboard out to students so they can see your board too! It’s fun and interactive!
Tip #4 – Jeopardy
Google Slides – Jeopardy – A free template for google slides jeopardy! It is already linked – all you have to do is input the information!! This has been a great resource to use for reviewing concepts with my students!
Tip #5 – Online Story Books
Vooks – is an online book resource that is giving teachers a free subscription for 1 year. These have been fun to incorporate into my weekly lesson plans. My students are loving watching and listening to the books.
Storyline Online – another free online book resource. It has actors that read popular picture books! These are great to use in lessons to work on a variety of topics!!
Tip #6 – Custom Cursor
Custom Cursor – This is a google extension you can download that makes your cursor into an image! It would be fun to use a reward for students or to keep them engaged for interactive synchronous lessons.
Tip #7 – Peardeck
Peardeck is a resource to make Google or Microsoft slides interactive for students. There is a basic version that is free, but there are also premium memberships you can get! I use the monthly membership with the teacher discount. I was lucky to have my PTA reimburse me because I wrote a grant.
Tip #8 – BOOM Cards
Boom Cards are interactive task cards students can use. There are variety of memberships you can use. There is a free version and paid versions. It is a very inexpensive way to collect data on students for IEP goals. The $25 yearly fee was worth my sanity for collecting data!
